Good Corporate Citizenship is part of our culture.
K&A Cares is more than just a program—it's a heartfelt initiative to extend support to those who need it most. It's about giving back to our communities while also fostering team building and gaining valuable experiences along the way. Throughout each quarter, we take pride in organizing a variety of events that aim to spread joy and make a meaningful impact.
This quarter, our K&A Cares journey took us from animal shelters to raising awareness for terminal diseases. Here are the few activities our teams were involved in during Q2 of 2024:
Walking Together for MS Awareness
During May, our team from the Charlotte office passionately supported Walk MS events across seven locations in the Carolinas. Their efforts ranged from crafting signs to assembling lanyards and writing heartfelt thank-you notes.
The funds raised from Walk MS are crucial for advancing research, advocating for better treatments, and supporting programs that empower individuals affected by multiple sclerosis. Participating in these walks allowed us to not only contribute tangibly but also to raise awareness about the impact of MS on individuals and their families. We are proud to play a part, no matter how small, in this larger effort to make a positive difference in our community.
Supporting Shelters in Caring for Animals
In June 2024, our Substation and Civil Design teams organized and donated essential supplies to Oxsa Nepal Animal Welfare Society, a local shelter dedicated to animal welfare.
For over 15 years, Raina Byanjankar has led Oxsa Nepal, which provides care to dogs, cats, and birds in need. The donation included rice, lentils, cooking oil, and vital medicines to support the shelter's ongoing efforts. We are proud to stand with Oxsa Nepal in its mission to provide compassion and care to vulnerable animals in our community.
K&A Chicago Team's Gift to The Kids Pantry
Towards the end of June, our Chicago team, supported by our Executive Leadership Team, came together to assemble and donate five children's bicycles to The Kids Pantry, an organization dedicated to supporting families in need, with a particular focus on single mothers raising multiple children. Our team's effort wasn't just about assembling bikes; it was a celebration of teamwork and compassion. The team worked side by side, engaging in friendly competition and playful office antics.
The joy of giving was palpable as each bike took shape, knowing they would bring smiles to children who might not have had such an opportunity otherwise. For us at K&A, these moments remind us of the importance of community and the power of coming together for a common cause.
With the end of Q2, we’re excited about the opportunities to make a positive impact in our communities and beyond. No matter how small or big, we try to carry the motive of K&A Cares into the future and spread joy and happiness to the communities we live and work in.
